we are in #bitcoin
Pilate 2017-01-19 08:04:18
well bitcoin public keys are generally in base58
Pilate 2017-01-19 08:04:21
but you should know that by now
arubi 2017-01-19 08:05:53
actually addresses and private keys are in base58
Pilate 2017-01-19 08:06:06
and an address is...
arubi 2017-01-19 08:06:18
a hash of a script or a pubkey
Pilate 2017-01-19 08:06:30
good jorb
arubi 2017-01-19 08:07:50
pubkeys are usually one byte telling if they're even or odd (or uncompressed, or hybrid), then an octet with the bytes. 32 bytes or 64 depends if compressed or not (hybrid is 64 bytes too)
arubi 2017-01-19 08:08:48
but nobody uses hybrid :P
cluelessperson 2017-01-19 08:16:35
Can I get thoughts on this?

cluelessperson 2017-01-19 08:17:03
I guess my confusion is in what formats I should return
cluelessperson 2017-01-19 08:17:23
I like bytes, I don't have to do a done of converting all the time
cluelessperson 2017-01-19 08:17:36
but it may be better for end users to just give them the format they'll need
SerajewelKS 2017-01-19 08:35:21
cluelessperson: bytes as opposed to what?
