berndj 2017-01-16 04:45:14
grubles_, i do but it'll take me like half an hour to get to a point where i can spend them
grubles_ 2017-01-16 04:46:48
berndj, ok :) well that's up to you if you want to sync up :)
berndj 2017-01-16 04:49:04
segwit still stuck at 25% :(
berndj 2017-01-16 04:49:17
\r\btc must be rubbing its hands with glee
JackH 2017-01-16 04:49:34
It will never activate
JackH 2017-01-16 04:49:43
Seeing how brain dead the miners are
JackH 2017-01-16 04:50:39
Ironically that which makes Bitcoin unique and different than a SQL db, is also what makes it impossible to evolve and "upgrade"
Lauda 2017-01-16 04:50:40

Lauda 2017-01-16 04:50:43
What pool is this?
haakonn 2017-01-16 04:51:41
it's all the pools that are unknown to blocktrail. one of them is the remains of kncminer
JackH 2017-01-16 04:53:06
ViaBTC is the 6th largest pool?
dgenr8 2017-01-16 05:19:59
Lauda: But for the later geniuses, there would be no bitcoin? Everybody would have given up and forgotten the technology? No better chain would ever have emerged?
berndj 2017-01-16 05:22:19
grubles_, do you still want those testnet coins?
Lauda 2017-01-16 05:23:38
Different coin != Bitcoin.
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:26:12
looks like support for segwit is even backsliding a bit
frib 2017-01-16 05:27:21
why is segwit necessary for the implementation of LN?
dgenr8 2017-01-16 05:28:35
Lauda: In any sane universe, the later geniuses would have created bitcoin. And they wouldn't have to be hiding in #segwit-dev figuring out what to do about pesky miners.
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:28:53
I don't think it's absolutely necessary, frib, just makes things more straightforward and is what the current implementation relies upon I think
frib 2017-01-16 05:29:30
jwinterm, what do you mean by "straightforward"? can you please elaborate on why it relies on segwit?
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:29:41
kind of surprising that BU + BW's 8 MB blocks now have more support than SW now
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:29:42
or not
berndj 2017-01-16 05:30:34
frib, start here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Payment_channels

berndj 2017-01-16 05:31:33
frib, it's things like net being secure at all, or not being able to keep a channel active, or having to wait a year for the channel to time out
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:32:09
berndj, no it's fine. i got some from someone else. thanks though :)
berndj 2017-01-16 05:32:23
jwinterm, where do you see bigblocks having more support than segwit?
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:32:42

berndj 2017-01-16 05:32:46
ok np grubles_ at least now my testnet is synced again!
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:32:51
++
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:32:55
in block details section
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:32:59
i might need some more later
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:33:04
i'm testing lnd
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:33:04
SW at 23.6%
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:33:13
BU + BW = 25.7
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:35:56
probably just mining variance
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:36:11
almost certainly mining variance
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:36:57
yea, not clear if it's looking back 1k blocks or just what's visible, like couple hundred
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:37:14
then look at a less-misleading data source
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:37:16

jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:38:23
you can't see BW pool there can you?
grubles_ 2017-01-16 05:38:47
yes. scroll down.
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:41:38
it's about the same, BU + BW 25.7% v. SW 24.5%
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:41:41
over last 950 blocks
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:41:50
assuming btc.com = btc.top
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:41:52
I'm not sure
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:42:03
nevermind
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:42:09
btc.com != btc.top
buZz 2017-01-16 05:42:51
btc.top seems like its a miningpool
jwinterm 2017-01-16 05:43:04
they're not listed on bitcoinity table tho
