I don't think it's necessary to reinvent the wheel. :(

Michail1, I'm not asking you to google search for me. I'm saying the documentation is unclear/confusing, or leaves errors/mistakes to be made
cluelessperson 2017-01-17 05:47:20
I don't want to make mistakes.
cluelessperson 2017-01-17 05:47:48
Michail1, the scripts / existing programming you directed me, generally all ASSUMES default parameters, which is bad.
Michail1 2017-01-17 05:48:04
So, you want to write code yourself instead of using known good libraries that already exist.

I use pycoin for all converting. By richardkiss.

and another question how long are alternative chains kept? 6 up to blocks height difference compared to the best chain?
fronti 2017-01-17 06:04:00
they are kept forevr
kai1 2017-01-17 06:06:51
fronti: ah ok, thank you
kai1 2017-01-17 06:23:35
fronti: if i may ask another question, how long are new blocks to those alternative chains accepted? (leaving aside that it wouldn't make sense to want to extend deep buried alternative chains)
kai1 2017-01-17 06:28:20
another question: are there any sites with stastics regarding how often chain forks (of length 1, 2, 3) are happening? i've read that a fork of length 1 happens in average about once a week, and very very rarely of length 2, (in mastering bitcoin), but some real statistics about that would be great
Pilate 2017-01-17 06:30:45
kai1: look for orphan/reorg stats
kai1 2017-01-17 06:33:22
Pilate: thank you
