hey
elichai2 2017-01-12 20:49:52
how can I bypass error -26?
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 20:53:15
-26 is completely uninformative to anyone. what is the error text?
elichai2 2017-01-12 20:54:37
it says it's Insuffiecient fees but it's not
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 20:55:04
it probably is.
elichai2 2017-01-12 20:55:11
I'm not sure what error is it really, because the fees aren't the problem (tried sending other transaction with the same fees)
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 20:55:32
Doesn't mean insufficient fees aren't your problem.
elichai2 2017-01-12 20:55:32
I think it has to do with conflicting transactions, but it's weird because I run peter todd's replace-by-fee patch
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 20:55:44
A replacement has to pay a higher fee.
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 20:56:30
not just infinitesmally higher but higher by the minrelayfee.
elichai2 2017-01-12 20:57:02
gmaxwell, how can I change that? I want my client to accept sending conflicting transactions with different fees
elichai2 2017-01-12 20:57:22
(by the way, it's not an RBF transaction, with a nSequence flag, just a normal one)
PaulVern 2017-01-12 20:57:27
settle down nag face
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 20:57:50
elichai2: doesn't change it.
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 20:58:25
elichai2: if you broadcast it, it'll hardly matter because no one else will accept it, and you'll just make yourself into a DOS attack amplifier.
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 20:58:41
elichai2: if you want to send transactions regardless of any sane logic, use wladimir's submittx tool.
elichai2 2017-01-12 20:59:33
I have it but it doesn't work great
elichai2 2017-01-12 20:59:46
I'm testing for a anti double-spending product
elichai2 2017-01-12 21:00:11
can't I remove the validation function from the code and compile it? (or change it to `return true`)
gmaxwell 2017-01-12 21:02:43
elichai2: not easily the assumptions are pretty deep. I don't understand how the submittx couldn't be _vastly_ better for testing doublespends than running a node.
elichai2 2017-01-12 21:06:42
I haven't used it in a while, i'll check it again and come back (it's using all the sockets so i'll get disconnected)
elichai2 2017-01-12 21:10:57
(oh, and for submittx I need to generate a list of nodes)
elichai2 2017-01-12 21:26:09
gmaxwell, yeah, it's not working for me, some error with python, trying to figure it out
