Hi, I just had a little question about what kind of hardware I would need to run a full node for myself. Is is okay to do so on a machine that is also functioning as a home router? Say, this machine: http://pcengines.ch/apu2c4.htm ?

kermlin: You need to connect some reasonable sized HDD

kermlin: Also single core 1 GHz CPU will need some more time for initial synchronization, after that it should be sufficient.

krashan: Yep, I could get a LAN connected harddisk like the WD MyCloud. And it is a Quad-core.

but what I wanted to know was if it looks like it can handle both a full node as well as routing duties.

kermlin: Core performs intensive database-style disk activity. Networked disk may be too slow.

kermlin: Using network drive will seriously increase load of net interfaces and TCP stack.

kermlin: I see it has no SATA, in this case I would go for USB HDD.

kermlin: I use USB 2.0 HDD for blockchain.
