can running a full node and charge fees be worthwhile for the common man?
abpa 2017-01-10 05:51:59
You probably won't make any money
nkuttler 2017-01-10 05:53:55
quem_: you can't really charge for anything
nkuttler 2017-01-10 05:54:03
that is, if you only run a full node

Both my pcs are not safe to create a bitcoin wallet. My best solution right now is to create a paperwallet by SSHing to one of my servers at linode. However how do I create a paper wallet with CLI?
Azelphur 2017-01-10 06:41:45
bicc: an easily solution is to download a Linux LiveCD and boot from it
gmaxwell 2017-01-10 06:42:04
bicc: you really don't want to use a computer at linnode to create keys.
bicc 2017-01-10 06:42:04
hmm good idea.. and use electrum then right?
gmaxwell 2017-01-10 06:42:17
esp not from a computer you already think is unsafe!
bicc 2017-01-10 06:42:18
gmaxwell oh ok. why is that?
Azelphur 2017-01-10 06:42:58
if you think the computer is safe, and you then use the (unsafe) computer to ssh into your linode machine, that is still unsafe
Azelphur 2017-01-10 06:43:37
bicc: but yea, sure you can use electrum on a livecd
bicc 2017-01-10 06:44:01
awesome thank you. Didn't think about it!
grubles 2017-01-10 06:44:15
linode has already been compromised in the past and bitcoin was stolen as a result
grubles 2017-01-10 06:44:24
i definitely wouldn't use them
